Use of Odour control covers in wastewater treatment plants

Odour control covers are a type of filtration system that are used in wastewater treatment plants, particularly when flocculating and clarifying the raw sewage. It is a type of micro porous media which consist of fine and fibrous structure which trap microorganisms and solid particles. Odour control cover has significant importance as it can improve the quality of effluent discharged by the plants thereby reducing pollution to receiving water bodies.

Odour control covers are used to cover the blow tunnels or process pipes, which are the most common places odour sources exists in waste water treatment plants. Odour control covers can be made of rubber, plastic, paper and glass depending on their purpose. These covers reduce odours coming from these pipes before they reach the inflow of fresh raw effluent entering the plant in order to reduce chance of harsh smell during collection of wastewater entering into a receiving zone.

Odour control covers are typically attached to the intake pipes of wastewater treatment plants. This helps reduce the smells and odours that come from the plant. They are extremely effective in reducing the odour coming out of the plant because they trap some of the bacteria that give off the odour by changing their metabolism so they cannot produce enough new material to release through the outflow pipes to other parts of your treatment system.

Odour control covers are used in wastewater treatment plants to control odour. It can be used in a number of different processes such as aeration, sludge separation or biological treatment.

Odour control covers are used to treat the odour produced by sewage in wastewater treatment plants. These covers are also called odour barriers. A good quality odour control cover is made of a safety glass material with a double spreading layer (DSL) and resistance to mechanical shock.

Odour control covers are used when treating wastewater to remove odours. Odour is one of the most common complaints from residents, but also from employees and customers coming into contact with the treatment plant.
